Open Scalable File Systems, Inc. (“OpenSFS”) is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for all participants in our conferences, programs and other events.
Harrassment. OpenSFS does not tolerate harassment in any form. Harassment is unwelcome or hostile behavior that intimidates, creates discomfort, or interferes with a participant’s participation in an event, whether related to a participant’s age, color, national origin, citizenship, disability, medical condition, race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, body size or any other status protected by laws in which the event is held. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive, abusive or degrading verbal language, displaying sexual images, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Such behavior, even when intended as teasing or joking is not acceptable. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Exhibitors, Presenters, Booths. Exhibitors and presenters should refrain from using images, activities or materials inconsistent with the above guidelines. Booth staff and volunteers should not display materials or wear clothing, uniforms or costumes that create a harassing environment.
Consequences. If any individual engages in harassing behavior, event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including issuing a warning, excluding the individual from the event without a refund, and/or contacting venue security or local law enforcement.
Staff Assistance. Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.
If You Experience Harassment. Any individual experiencing or witnessing harassment at an event is encouraged to immediately contact any member of the event staff, the event organizers, or OpenSFS by email at [email protected]. In case of immediate danger or emergency, dial 911.
